One of the reasons for the creation of federal institutions (at any level), is to afford the common masses the right to send their wards to school to get a quality education without breaking the bank. Therefore, one of the common denominators usually spotted easily amongst federal tertiary institutions is the fact that their tuition fees are not as hefty as their counterparts operating at the state and private levels.

So, although there are still some universities that demand far lesser school fees, the University of Nigeria is still a school that collects cheap fees from students. Interestingly, despite the low charges, the school maintains a high educational standard.
