Actually, the reason Fresh students usually pay more is that they must pay an acceptance and other related fees after they have been offered admission by the School. This fee is an indication that they have embraced the offer presented by the School and that they are ready to resume as a bonafide student. It should be noted that failure to pay the fee means the student is not interested in the admission, but that it should be given to someone else. Having taken time to explore the fees to be paid by Fresh students, let us now see the one that belongs to Stale and Returning students of the institution. Just as stated earlier, these ones are paying less, as they are paying for fewer things (they have paid for these things when they were Fresh students also)
Therefore, for several Faculties, students are to pay a fee in the region of N40,000 each session, while for those that belong to the Faculty of Science, they are to pay N48,000.
FUOYE Hostel Fees 220
If you are interested in staying in the hostel, you will be provided with the appropriate procedures to get one, as well as the necessary fee to pay.
Due to various reasons, a lot of students are now requesting hostel accommodations, meaning they desire staying closer to the school area.
If you are staying in Oye hostel, you are to pay # 50 ,000 naira. However, the Ikole Hostel is just # 35 , 000 naira.
Here is the registration procedure :
- Students are to fill the hostel accommodation request form at the Student Affairs office (it can also be downloaded from the University Portal) and then submit the form to the Student Affairs Officer
- You should obtain the authority to pay from the Student Affairs Office before paying the fee.
- After making the payment, the student should take his or her Bank draft to Bursary and will collect a receipt, which will be used to obtain the Hostel Accommodation form with two copies of the Hostel Eligibility form at Student Affairs Office.
- The University security Unit will get one of the forms, and the second one will be acknowledged by the Security Unit (before being submitted to the Student Affairs Division for allocation of Bed space)

FUOYE has been criticized for various things in recent times. There are people who believe the institution is quite expensive because of the fees she demands from Fresh students (and they felt that as a Federal University, it shouldn’t be that much, because Federal universities are meant to be affordable by all). However, it is not exactly so. The reason for stating this is because the amount demanded from Fresh students is paid just once, and stale students pay much less.
