Important Things To Know About Imo State University

  1. IMSU was actually founded in 1981 and is located in Owerri, in the Eastern part of the country.
  2. The institution came alive via law No. 4 which was passed by the Imo State House of Assembly in 1981, and it keeps growing ever since then.
  3. Upon its establishment, IMSU admitted just 392 students, and the first set of graduates left about four years later.
  4. In 1991, Abia State was carved from Imo State, and with that, the campus that was located in Uturu campus became that of Abia State University (which remains so till this moment)
