This is to notify all candidates that participated in the Unilorin Screening test that the management of the University of Ilorin (UNILORIN) has released their first and second batch admission lists for the 2020 academic session. Therefore all the candidates that participated in the University of Ilorin post UTME screening test can now proceed to check their admission status online.
We are glad to use this medium to announce and at the same time notify all candidates who choose UNILORIN during the course of JAMB registration and that these candidates must have partaken in the 2018 Post-UTME screening of the University.
Candidates can, therefore, proceed to check their UNILORIN admission status on JAMB portal. So it is no news that the Unilorin Admission List is now out on and available on the UNILORIN admission portal.
UNILORIN ADMISSION LIST (1st& 2nd BATCH) 2020/2021
In view of the Unilorin Screening exercise candidates who applied for admission in the 2018 UTME are hereby informed that the FIRST and SECOND Batch admission list has been released. Therefore all the 2020/21 admission seekers, especially to those applicants who scored above 50% or equivalent in the just, concluded UNILORIN 2020/2021 Post UTME examination and hereby inform to upload their O’level result on the Jamb CAPS. This article is to make you aware that the Unilorin Admission List is now released on the school portal. Also, we have highlighted the procedure on how to check your admission status on the Unilorin Admission portal.

Candidates who sat for the Unilorin screening exercise can actually go to the UNILORIN merit admission list and check the portal for their admission status. If your name did not appear on the first list, check the second batch admission list.

Note: UNILORIN 2nd batch admission list is yet to be released and uploaded on the university’s website. The only medium that you can only access your status on the JAMB admission status checking the portal by following the procedure outlined above.

The process to Confirm UNILORIN Admission Status on JAMB CAPS (1st and 2nd) Batch
As discussed above, the University of Ilorin, UNILORIN Admission List for the 2020/2021 academic session is out and has been made available on JAMB’s Website. Therefore all candidates who applied for admission in the University of Ilorin and also took part in the Post-UTME Screening that they can now check their admission status on JAMB CAPS. In addition, candidates who are admitted are to click on ”ACCEPT” or “REJECT” to indicate acceptance or rejection of the admission offered them. Before doing that, note that by clicking ”REJECT” you indicated that the offer of admission has been rejected.
Candidates who are offered admission should log in to the JAMB CAPS website, click ”ACCEPT” or “REJECT”. This is to show if you will be accepting or rejecting the admission offer.

- About UNILORIN
The University of Ilorin is one of the respected high institutions in Nigeria. The University of Ilorin also known with its acronym UNILORIN and it is located in the ancient city of Ilorin, which is about 500 kilometers away from Abuja, the Federal Capital Territory. Ilorin is the Capital of Kwara State and as well as the major city, it is strategically located at the geographical and cultural confluence of the South and North. The University of Ilorin was among the seven higher institutions of higher learning established by a decree of the Federal Military Government in August 1975. The essence of taking this step to implement one of the educational directives of the country’s Third National Development Plan was aimed at providing more opportunities and a wider opening for Nigerians aspiring to acquire university education, to increase and generate high-level manpower, that is vital for the rapidly expanding economy.
The former University College of Ilorin was initially affiliated to the University of Ibadan. In September 1975, Dr. T.N. Tamuno, Professor and Head of History Department at the University of Ibadan, was appointed as the first Principal of the College. Shortly after the appointment of Professor Tamuno’s as Principal of the College, he was appointed the Vice-Chancellor of the University of Ibadan. This event, therefore, made it necessary to appoint a new Principal in the person of Professor O.O. Akinkugbe, former Dean of the then Faculty of Medicine, University of Ibadan, in December 1975.
The then-new appointed Principal, Professor O.O. Akinkugbe made several visits to late Colonel Ibrahim Taiwo who was the second Military Governor of Kwara State, in connection with the new institution, such that by March 1976, he had established residence at Ilorin. The endless and full support given to the fledgling Institution by the then military Governor of Kwara continued strongly even more vigorously under Brigadier George A. Innih, the third Military Governor of the State, who assigned and transferred a portion of the temporary site of the Kwara State College of Technology to the University. Up till this day, that site still serves as the mini-campus of the University.
