Given birth to on the 27th of October, 1990, Falz was brought to life by renowned lawyers and human rights activists known as Femi and Funmi Falana. Falz began his career while in Secondary school. Then, he formed a group named ‘The School Boyz’ with his friend. In 2009, he started his professional career as a music artist. He became famous after producing his song titled ‘Marry Me’ where he featured other artists including Poe and Yemi Alade. Currently, he is the owner of an independent record label named Bahd Guys Records. In 2014, he released his debut album named Wazup Guy. A year later, he released his second album named ‘Stories That Touch’. Two years later, he produced his third album and released twenty-seven (27). In 2019, he released his fourth studio album which he titled Moral Instruction.
Born in the Mushin Local Government Area of Lagos, he went to St. Leo’s Catholic Primary School, Ikeja and Olashore International School, Osun State for his primary and secondary school education respectively. For his higher degree, he proceeded to the University of Reading located in England where he bagged a honor degree in Law. In 2012, he was called to bar after graduating from the Nigerian Law School located in Abuja.

In 2016, he won the award ‘Best Actor in a Comedy Movie/Series’ at the 2016 Africa Magic Viewers Choice Award (AMVCA). He earned the award by playing the role of ‘Segun’ in Funke Akindele’s TV series named Jenifa’s Diary. In the same years, he also won the ‘Viewer’s Choice Best New International Act’ category at the 2016 BET Awards. In addition, he was also nominated for the ‘Best Rap Act of the Year’ and ‘Best New Act to Watch’ categories. In 2018, Falz also won the ‘Best Supporting Actor’ at the 2018 Africa Magic Viewers’ Choice Awards. He earned this role by playing the role of Quam in Tope Oshin Ogun’s Movie titled New Money. This made him the first Nigerian to bag the AMVCA’s awards twice.
Being an artist, he has collaborated with numerous other artists to produce amazing songs. In 2016, he collaborated with Simi to release a seven-track EP known as Chemistry solely produced by Sess. Previously; he has worked with Simi on the singles known as ‘Jamb Question’ and Soldier’.
On his birthday, he released the album titled 27 in order to celebrate the day. The album contained 17 tracks and it featured numerous popular artists including Davido, Olamide, Burna Boy, Wande Coal, Maleek Berry, etc. The album also includes hit singles including ‘Bhad Baddo Baddest’, ‘Wehdone Sir’, and ‘Something Light’. The album earned him numerous awards and nominations including a nomination for the Headies Award for Rap Album of the Year. In 2018, he got an inspiration from Childish Gambino ‘This Is America’ and this made him produce a music video titled ‘This is Nigeria’. The video majorly highlighted the problems facing Nigeria like Corruption, Bribery, etc.
