Who is the best rapper in Zambia as things stand now? Considering the surge in the country’s music industry, it is not surprising that many people out there are now interested in knowing such things as the best rappers in Zambia. 

Generally, there are several talented Zambian rappers that have gained a fan base filled with supporters, and doing well for themselves. Nevertheless, the fact remains that some rappers are better than others, and what we will do here is to talk about the top ten amongst them.

  • 1. Macky2

Macky2 is currently the best rapper in Zambia. Born as Mulaza Kaira, he picked up the stage name Macky2 when he dipped into the music industry, and he has grown to become a very hot rapper, who is pretty versatile too (he can produce, he can sing, and he can rap). 

One of the interesting things about him is that he also attached other stage names to himself, and it appears it isn’t straining his career in any form. Generally, he is known to be a talented guy with a big reputation in the entertainment industry, as he has performed in various events in the country.

He also has a Foundation – Macky 2 Hope Foundation, where he lends a shoulder to vulnerable children in Zambia.

Here is another great guy in the Zambian music industry that is well-known for his impressive rapping skills which have placed him in the league of the best rappers in the country. He was born in Mwila Musonda and he has been able to grow into one of the biggest artists in Zambia. 

He has featured in several events and he also has several albums in his music gallery.

Born as Kondwani Kaira in Lusaka, Chef 187 is a very talented rapper who is known around the country for his expertise in music. Since he got into the scene some years back, he has been able to achieve a lot of things for himself.

He is signed to the record label Alpha Entertainments Music and has released several albums since he started his career in music. Chef 187, who has won several awards as applause for his superb skills, is another an ambassador for Proflight.

Clementina was born in Lusaka and she grew up to become a versatile entertainer. Apart from being a rapper, she is also a hip-hop recording artist and an OAP. Apart from the money she makes from the music industry, she also earns some money as an ambassador for some big brands in the country. 

Cleo Ice Queen has won several awards as a musician, including the Kwacha Music Awards (Best Female category).

JK, who was born as Jordan Katembula in Lusaka, is another superb Zambian rapper who is quite influential and popular in the entertainment space of the country. He has been in the industry for a long period of time, and he has been able to remain in the category of the best in his trade. 

JK is not only a rapper but also a general singer and songwriter who has appropriately distinguished himself in the industry (one of the oldest entertainers in the country). Born Bwalya Sophie Chibesakunda in 1987,  BombShell is another superb Zambia rapper who has also established herself in the male-dominated industry as a female. Right now, she has a reputation for being one of the best female artists in the whole of the country. 

When she was younger, she took the step to go into rap music despite the odds (although she was motivated by her uncles). Apparently, her uncles are rappers, and she listens to their raps when she was with them. This made her developed a passion for rapping too, and even before she reached the age of 12, she has already been a rapper.

Gregory Gondw, popularly known as Classic, is another well-known Zambian rapper who is doing well for himself in the country. He is skilled when it comes to rapping, and he has been in the music industry for a lot of years now (he started in Kabwe). 

Gregory Gondwe, like many others on the list, was born and bred in Lusaka, and he broke into the scenes in the year 2007 when he released his first single. In addition to his career as a rapper in Zambia, he is also an educated person – he obtained a degree in Environmental Education from the University of Zambia years back. 

He is still one of the best rappers in Zambia, and he is also an influential person as far as the entertainment industry is concerned generally in the country.

Up next is Nathaniel Edward Bangira Nchemba, popularly known as Eddie Black (his stage name). He is another superb rapper in Zambia, born in a place known as Itezhi-Tezhi, even though he grew up in Lusaka. 

Actually, his mother raised him up in the capital city and he lost her at a young age, which prompted his grandparents to take over the responsibility of raising him. He was focused on his future, and he became a superb entertainer who became well-known in the year 2011 after he released his first single which he titled “What’s the Name of the Game’’.
