1. San Marino’s National Football Team 

San Marino’s national team is the lowest-ranked team in world football and ranked as the worst national team in the history of football, as they have only won a single match and conceded a total average of 4.2 goals per game, although as a member of UEFA they face tends to face stronger competition compared to many other low-ranked teams. 

Their first official game played was a 4–0 defeat in a European Championships qualifier against Switzerland in the year 1990. 

Initially,  San Marino played an unofficial match against a Canadian Olympic team in the year 1986, losing 1–0. Since making their competitive debut, San Marino has also competed in the qualifiers of every European Championship and World Cup but still has never won a match in either of the competitions. They only have ever won a game, defeating Liechtenstein 1–0 in a friendly match on 28 April 2004.

2. The Anguilla National Football Team 

Following San Marino, Anguilla national football team is the 2nd worst football team in the world.

Their first-ever appearance and the international match was against the British Virgin Islands which was played in The Valley, Anguilla in October 1985 resulting in a 1-0 defeat. 

However,  their biggest win was a 4-1 win against Montserrat which took place in Marigot, Saint Martin on 8th February 2001.

Moreover,  their biggest loss was a match against Trinidad and Tobago on the 10th of November 2019 held in Couva, Trinidad and Tobago resulting in a 15-0 defeat. 

3. The British Virgin Island National Football Team 

The British Virgin Islands national football team is majorly the national team of the British Virgin Islands which is also controlled by the British Virgin Islands Football Association. It is also a member of both FIFA and CONCACAF. 

Their first-ever international match was a 0-1 victory against Anguilla which was held in Anguilla in October 1985.

However,  their biggest win was a 6-0 win against Anguilla held in Saint Martin on the 28th of March 1990 while their biggest defeat was a 17-0 against the British Virgin Islands which was played in San Cristobal, Dominican Republic on the 14th of October 2010

It is a member of both CONCACAF and FIFA.

4. The U.S. Virgin Islands National Soccer Team 

This national soccer team, also known as (The Dashing Eagle), is the national soccer team of the U.S. Virgin Islands which is controlled by the U.S. Virgin Islands Soccer Federation. 

They played their first international match in the U.S. Virgin Islands on the 21st of March 2019 resulting in a 1-0 win against the British Virgin Islands.

Also, their biggest win is a match against Anguilla which was played in The Valley,  Anguilla on the 22nd of March, 2019 resulting in (Anguilla 3-0 U.S. Virgin Islands. 

Moreover,  their biggest defeat was a match against Saint Lucia resulting in 14-1 which was held in Port-au-Prince, Haiti on April 14, 2001.

5. Turks And Caicos Islands National Football Team 

Here’s the number 5th ranked (FIFA) worst team in the world, it is the national team of the Turks and Caicos Islands which is controlled by the Turks and Caicos Islands Football Association. 

Their first international match was a 3-0 loss against the Bahamas which took place in Nassau, the Bahamas on the 24th of February 1999.

Their Biggest win was against Sint Maarten resulting in (Sin Maarten 2 -5 Turks and Caicos Islands) which took place in Willemstad, Curaçao on the 10th of October 2019.

In Addition,  their greatest departure is an 11-0 loss against Cuba on the 8th of September 2018 held in Havana, Cuba.

6. The Aruba National Football Team 

The Aruba national football team played their first international match against Curaçao on the 6th of April 1924 in Aruba resulting in a 4-0 defeat.

Moreover, their biggest win noted is an 8-1 victory against Surinam on the 6th of June 1924 which took place in Surinam, and A 7-0 win against the British Virgin Islands which was held at Oranjestad, Aruba on the 1st of June, 2014.

On the other hand, their Biggest defeat adding to the reason for their position in this category is an 11-0 defeat against Trinidad and Tobago held in Arima, Trinidad, and Tobago on the 23rd of April 1989.

7. The Sri Lanka National Football Team 

The Sri Lanka national football team’s first international match was against India with the defeat of 2-0 goals which took place in Colombo, Ceylon on the first of January 1952.

Their biggest win was against Pakistan with a victory of 7-1 on the 4th of April 2008 which took place in Taipei, Taiwan. Moreover,  they also had a 6-0 win against Bhutan on the 6th of December 2009 which took place in Dhaka, Bangladesh. 

On the other hand, their biggest defeat was against Germany with Germany winning 1-12 on the 12th of January 1964 which was held in Colombo, Ceylon. 

In the World Cup’s qualification round in 2018, the team lost both matches against Bhutan hence, failing to qualify for the next round. However, the Sri Lanka National football team managed to qualify for the semi-finals of the 2015 SAFF Championship. 

8. The Eritrea National Football Team 

 The Eritrea national football team represents Eritrea in men’s international football which is controlled by the Eritrean National Football Federation. It is also known as the Red Sea Boys which is regarded as their nickname. As it is, It has never for once qualified for the finals of the FIFA World Cup and the Africa Cup of Nations. 

Their first international match was against Sudan leading to a 1-1 draw which took place in Khartoum, Sudan on the 26th of June 1992, however,  their biggest win in history was a 3-0 win against Djibouti which was held in Kampala, Uganda on the 13th of December 2019. Moreover, their biggest defeat is listed below 

  • Angola 6–1 Eritrea(Luanda, Angola; 25 March 2007)
  • Ghana 5–0 Eritrea (Accra, Ghana; 28 February 1999)

 

9. The Tonga National Football Team

The Tonga national football team is also ranked as the 9th worst soccer team (according to FIFA) following the Bahamas national football team. They represent Tonga in the men’s international football and it’s controlled by the Tonga Football Association, which is a part of the Oceania Football Confederation.

The biggest defeat recorded for the team was the  defeat playing against Australia resulting in a total score of 22–0

However, their biggest win with Tonga winning  7–0 against  Micronesia. (Nausori, Fiji; 5 July 2003)

 

10. The Bahamas National Football Team

The Bahamas national football team ranked at the 10th position in the top ten worst international football teams. The club has never for once qualified for the FIFA World Cup. In 2011, they withdrew from the ongoing 2014 FIFA World Cup qualifiers after playing in the first round.
