Being one of the States located in Nigeria, Ebonyi is one of the few states in Nigeria that are endowed with numerous rich individuals. These individuals are widely known in the state to be politically-oriented individuals.

1. Chris Abani

The richest man in Ebonyi State is Chris Abani. Chris Abani is a Nigerian and American author that believes in conveying an English-speaking audience experience of those that were given birth to and raised in a troubled African nation. Chris holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in English and Literary Studies from Imo State University. In addition, he also obtained a Master of Arts degree in Gender and Culture from Birbeck College, University of London.

2. Senator Anthony Agbo

Second, on the list of the richest men in Ebonyi State is Senator Anthony Agbo. He was elected Senator for the Ebonyi North constituency of the state. In addition, he is a member of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP). Outside of his political career, Senator Anthony Agbo is also a renowned poet that has published his works in numerous journals and in fact a sponsor of Nigerian literature. As a parliamentarian, he has been highly respected for sponsoring and co-sponsoring numerous bills in the House of Assembly.

3. Andy Chukwu

Fourth on the list is Andy Chukwu. Given birth on the 14th of May, Andy Chukwu is a well known Nigerian Movie Director who has been featured in numerous movies including Karishika, Witches, Issakaba, and a host of numerous others. He hailed from Obinagu in Ishiagu town of the Ivo Local Government Area of Ebonyi State. He is also well known for actively involved in numerous community youth empowerment programs. One of those programs includes a skill acquisition program called Streets to Skills which he partnered with the governments of Lagos State and Ebonyi State to carry out.

4. Anyim Pius Anyim

Yet another politician! Anyim Pius Anyim was born on the 19th of February, 1961 and he is a well-known politician who has served as the President of the Nigerian Senate during President Goodluck Jonathan’s administration. In addition, he once served as the Secretary to the Government of the Federation under the same man’s administration. He is a well-known parliamentarian as he has made numerous moves in the past. One of the moves was the one he made in June 2002 which is an attempt to impeach the then-president- Chief Olusegun Obasanjo

5. Sam Egwu

The fifth richest man in Ebonyi State is a former Governor of the state named Sam Egwu. Born on the 20th of June, 1954, Sam Egwu is a well-known politician who is a member of the People’s Democratic Party. He is also considered as a strong education pillar in the state as he has contributed massively to the development of education in the state. He is also a lecturer at the Enugu State University of Technology. Currently, he is a senator representing Ebonyi North Senatorial Zone and also the Senate’s Committee Chairman on Industry.

6. Martin Elechi

The sixth richest man in Ebonyi State is Martin Elechi. He is another Politian that occupies a spot in the list of richest men in the state. He was a former Governor of the state by succeeding Sam Egwu. Currently, he is a member of the All Progressive Congress after defecting from the People Democratic Party.

7. Sylvanus Ngele

Sylvanus Ngele is another politician that occupies a spot in the list of richest men in Ebonyi State. He was elected as a senator representing Ebonyi North constituency of the state during the beginning of the fourth republic. Being a politician, he has been widely respected in the state most especially for the positive impacts he had on his people.

8. Nwali Sylvester Ngwuta

The first jurist in the list of richest men in Ebonyi State is Nwali Sylvester Ngwuta. He is also a Justice of the Supreme Court of Nigeria. Born in 1951 in Amofia-Ukawu in Onitsha Local Government Area of the state, he obtained his bachelor’s degree in Law from Obafemi Awolowo University. 

9. Paulinus Igwe Nwagu

The ninth richest man in Ebonyi State is Paulinus Igwe Nwagu. Born on the 12th of June, 1959, he is a well-known politician in the state. He obtained his bachelor’s degree in Political Science and later venture into politics to practice his theoretical knowledge.

10. Benard Odoh

Born on the 5th of August, 1975, Benard Odoh is the last politician in the list of richest men in Ebonyi State. Over the past years, he has been known for greatly developing his political career as he has performed in numerous capacities.
