Complete NYSC Registration Process { Portal NYSC.gov.ng }

This post is meant for those that just concluded their tertiary education and are ready for NYSC registration . This post would reveal all you need to know about NYSC.

The first step to taking part in NYSC is making sure your school Senate sent your name to the NYSC board. Many had been denied being part of the exercise when they were supposed to because of this simple reason. If you are sure your school sent your name, you can go ahead with the steps below.

Visit NYSC portal – http://portal.nysc.gov.ng/ and create an account for yourself. If you already have one (e.g graduates not mobilised with previous set), you don’t need to create. What you need is just to log in.

After creating the account, you can follow the prompts to finish the registration process. Just know that you would need to upload a scanned Passport photograph of you alongside other relevant documents and your thumbprint.

The documents to be uploaded varies from location of school and courses as well as other factors.

  1. For Local students – It easier for local students as most of their data had been sent by their school. However, they need to upload a scanned copy of their first degree certificate and West African School Certificate / GCE / NECO.
  2. For foreign students – First degree certificate, transcript of first degree, West African School Certificate / GCE / NECO or High School Diploma (if applicable), International Passport and letters of verification (meant for graduates of Institutions in Ghana, Benin Republic and any other Institution whose accreditation is in doubt). It is important you know that all documents not in English Language must be translated into English language.
  3. For Medical Students – for those that studied medical science related courses, you need to upload the certificate issued to you by your respective council.
  4. Married Students – If you’re married and have no desire to be separated from your husband, upload the following documents – marriage certificate, evidence of change of name, document showing your spouse’s place of residence.

After the intending Corp members have completed registration, NYSC would eventually assign and sent out call up letters to them. This can be printed online (and call up number sent to phone) for N3000 by both local and Foreign students. Alternatively, students can get it for free from their schools (local students). Foreign students can get their’s in NYSC office in Abuja (go along with relevant documents).

What you need to take along with you to National Youth Service Corps camp :
