1. President Buhari reveals what he discussed with President Trump :

The president of Nigeria, President Muhammed Buhari, has released a Facebook post where he stated what he discuses with the President of the United States. The president said that they discussed the support the US has offered Nigeria so far, and added that Nigeria’s relationship with the US is a very valuable one. He also said he thanked the US president for giving him a call while he was getting medical treatment in the UK.

2. IPOB reacts to court order proscribing it as terrorist organization :

Representing the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB), the group media and publicity secretary of IPOB, Emma Powerful, released a statement where he rebuked the court order proscribing IPOB as a terrorist organization. Emma Powerful lamented that it is so saddening that the judiciary system of the country is so poor as it has always been manipulated by all present government.

3. October 1: Nigerians have so much to be thankful for — Yemi Osinbajo :

The Vice President of Nigeria, Yemi Osinbajo, had a statement with the press. Talking about the upcoming October 1 event, the Vice. President stated that Nigeria as a country has so much to be thankful to God for. Osibanjo added that no amount of praises can equate everything God has done for the country.

Members of the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB) have taken to public places across states in the South East region of the country. The group claims to be protesting after the court declared their organization as a terrorist organization. In addition, the group stated that the court order was beyond unfair as they have never killed a single person.

5. EFCC denies blocking Diezani’s attempt to return to Nigeria for trial :

The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) has denied the claim that it is blocking former Petroleum Minister, Diezani Alison-Madueke from returning to Nigeria. Diezani Alison-Madueke has been out of the country for a long time, claiming that she is receiving medical treatment abroad against cancer.

6. Flood takes over government estate in Imo state :

Some parts of Imo state have been flooded following a heavy downfall. Among places affected are houses in the Federal Housing Estate, Egbu road. However, there have not been any case of lose of live.

7. The government proposed to speak with Nnamdi Kanu, but he rejected dialogue — Garba Shehu :

Representing the Nigerian president, Garba Shehu, has stated that the federal government’s decision against IPOB is not unfair. 8. Biafra republic is unnecessary — Adamawa Igbo community

Adamawa Igbo community have voiced out their opinion on the present turmoil existing in the country. The community, through Chief Godwin Onemaka, stated that the Biafran movement is a failed one hence there is no need to start up any violence again. He added that the new agitation is not going to help in any way, it will rather impact on the country negatively.

Rivers State governor, Nyesom Wike, has enjoined churches to speak up against president Buhari’s government illegal actions. He made his statement at the 12th General Synod of the Church of Nigeria Anglican Communion. Wike said that is wrong for the government to engage in illegal actions, all in the name of taking down the corrupt people.

10. Sokoto, Kano, Osun announce public holiday to mark Islamic New Year:

Three states of the country, Sokoto, Kano and Osun, all declared tomorrow, September 22 as a public holiday. Saturday was declared public holiday to mark the beginning of a new Islamic year. The governor of Sokoto State stated that all Muslims in the state should pray for Nigeria as well as its president.

11. BREAKING: PDP suspends Anambra governorship aspirant, Ifeanyi Ubah :

The People Democratic Party have just suspended its Anambra governorship aspirant, Ifeanyi Ubah. Ifeanyi Ubah was accused of attacking the party’s national leader on media. However, Ubah was asked to retract his statement and apologise to the leader. He refused to do as ordered and is consequentially suspended by the party.

Talking about Nigeria’s performance in about 57 years after independence, the spokesman of the Northern Elders Forum (NEF), Ango Abdullahi claims that Nigeria is a failure. Ango Abdullahi said that Nigeria has nothing to write home about when compared to other African countries who also gained independence during the period Nigeria gain hers. He further blamed ex-military ruler Murtala Muhammed, stating that Murtala Muhammed messed up the Nigerian civil service.

Recently reaching the headlines is news that the Indegenous People Of Biafra (IPOB) has a bank account in Paris, France which is used to finance its operation within and outside the country. According to information provided, funds are being transferred to the account form Nigeria and other foreign countries like Holland, Hungary, Hong Kong, Malaysia, Turkey and Singapore.

14. BREAKING: Former first lady of Akwa Ibom Imo Isemin dies :

The wife of the first civilian governor of Akwa Ibom State has died after she suddenly fell ill on Tuesday. Mrs Imo Isemin was admitted to the hospital but later passed out. Here late husband died in 2009, 16 years after he left his post as a civilian governor of the state.

15. Herdsmen vs IPOB: Presidency reveals why pro-Biafra group is more dangerous :

Following series of attacks against the federal government’s decision of declaring IPOB a terrorist group, President Muhammadu Buhari’s media aide, Garba Shehu has come out to give 5 reason why the group should be considered a terrorist group. One, IPOB declared a sovereign state; two, IPOB is holding Nigerian territories; three, IPOB has a flag just like every other terrorist group; four, IPOB is making attempt to create embassies around the world; five, there is existence of Biafra Secret Service (BSS) recruiting people as soldiers.

16. Osun 2018: APC lists conditions for candidates to replace Aregbesola :

The publicity secretary of All Progressives Congress (APC), Kunle Oyatomi has come out to state some conditions needed to be satisfied by an APC governorship candidate who wishes to succeed Aregbesola. Kunle Oyatomi’s conditions all revolve around ‘loyalty’. He emphasised that an aspiring candidate must have a good history of loyalty, and also appears to remain loyal to the party.

Former governor of Ondo state, Dr Olusegun Mimiko has enjoined the Nigerian government to give close attention to maternal healthcare. The former governor who emphasised the importance of maternal healthcare, agreed that it is true that funding is always a problem. However, he added that with the right leadership, there is a lot that can be done to aid maternal healthcare.

The Eastern Consultative Assembly (ECA) has promised to honour Nnamdi Kano who is considered by IPOB members as a great man. ECA stated that their iconic leader has achieved what has always seemed impossible to. Furthermore, the assembly compared him to great men like Late Anthony Enahoro, Late Abraham Adesanya, Late Rotimi Williams and Late Tunji Braithwaite.

19. Governor Amosun’s aide dies in a ghastly road accident :

The aide of Ogun State governor, Busoye Olayinka (AKA Robot), has died after getting involved in a road accident late last night. The aide was said to be returning home with his brother when their car rammed into a truck. Shortly after the accident which occurred around 9 PM, he and his brother were rushed to the hospital where they both later passed out.

20. UNIBEN fixes new date for Post UTME, announces strict guidelines :

The University of Benin (UNIBEN) has announced a new date for their Post UTME which was initially scheduled to hold between September 14 and 25. For some unknown reasons, the exam did not commence on Sept 14, but the institution has now announced a new date for the exam. The Post UTME will now hold between September 28 and October 10.

21. Nigerian Army declares victory over IPOB :

The Nigerian Army has proudly come out to state that they have come out victorious over the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB). The Army stated that it has been able to suppress the violence caused by the group, and the South East of the country now seems at peace once again. The Army also thanked Nigerians for being so helpful during their fight against the group.
