JAMB CUT OFF MARK IN FEDERAL UNIVERSITY OF AGRICULTURE ABEOKUTA.

The Federal University Of Agriculture Abeokuta has released their JAMB cut off the mark for 2018/2019 session.  Aspirants interested in schooling in the university are hereby informed that the cut off the mark for 2018/2019 session in FUNAAB is 200. This means that the aspirants eligible to buy FUNAAB post UTME or admission form are those that scored up to 200 in their UTME result.

Some aspirants do not understand the difference between JAMB cut off the mark and departmental cut off point, but am here to make you understand it better.

The cutoff mark is the lowest possible cut off mark an aspirant is expected to reach in order to be admitted to any school in Nigeria. As at 2015 or so, Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board official made this cut off the mark to be 200 points for Universities and 180 for polytechnics.  But currently, {Jamb} FUNAAB cut off mark is now 180 for Universities and 150 for polytechnics. So any aspirant that score below 180 in JAMB, let’s say 179, is not qualified to be admitted to any Nigerian university, but he or she can use the result and seek for admission in any polytechnic of choice. Same goes to any aspirant that score let’s say 149 in the Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board exam is not qualified to be admitted to any Nigerian polytechnic. In my own opinion, I think that JAMB cut off the mark this time around is fair, only those that are not destined to Go Further in Education will score below 149 in JAMB.

On the other hand, departmental cut off point is the least mark expected from an aspirant to reach in post UTME screening exam by the school an aspirant is seeking admission from. This one is controlled by the school. Every department in any University or Polytechnic has a cut off mark, if an aspirant could not reach this cut off Mark, he or she will not be given admission by my merit, but will be given a course that is well suited for him or her or maybe not given any course.
