1. Abuakwa State College

Abuakwa State College is a secondary school in Kibi, in the Eastern Region of Ghana. The school was established in 1936. It is a boys and girls school, and the colors are Yellow and Green.

Abuakwa State College was established by three elders of the Methodist Church at Asafo-Akyem. They intended the school to be a preparatory institution to prepare Ghanaian students who were about to sit for the then Junior Cambridge Examination. However, the school met with great success, and the existing physical structures were inadequate.

The school was relocated to Kibi, at a bigger place, in 1967 to enable all more students especially those from Abuakwa to enroll in the school.

Aburi Girls’ Senior High School, popularly known as ABUGISS, is a Presbyterian senior high school which is located south of Aburi in the Eastern Region of Ghana. This is a girls’ boarding school, and it was founded in 1946 by missionaries from Basel Switzerland.

As at the time when this school was established in 1946, it had only seven students. But the foundation for this school was the already successful primary school established by the Missionaries inside their Mission Station, which was established in 1852. Accra Academy is located at Bubuashie, near Kaneshie in the Greater Accra Region. Established in 1931, it was the first private academy to be established in the Gold Coast. The school was established in 1923, initially as a Boys School, but which later became a school for children of both genders. The school was founded by the late Rev.
