Netcare N1 City hospital visiting hours are the times set aside for patients to receive visitations from their loved ones like you. With 235 beds, and 8 theatres giving 24 hour accident and emergency care, this is easily one of the biggest hospitals in the cape town area.

Intensive Care

Due to the nature of this ward, and the state of the patients, there will be no visitors younger than 16.

MV Maternity Ward

Only the Birth partner may visit patients in this ward. They may visit every day, but will be asked to leave the ward during quiet time between 13:00 – 14:00. Grandparents and the patient’s own children are not permitted to visit the ward.

NeoNatal Ward

Parents only are permitted to visit between 11:00 to 18:30 and between 19:15 to 22:00 every day. All other visitors, including grandparents and siblings are not allowed to visit.

PAED Highcare

Parents only are allowed to visit patients in this ward, and they can visit between the hours of 11:00 to 18:30 and also between the hours of 19:15 to 22:00. They may visit every day. All other visitors, including grandparents and siblings are not permitted to visit.

Vascular Intensive Care

This ward only allows 2 to 3 visitors per patient at any given time. Due to the nature of the treatments given in this ward, no visitors younger than 16 years of age are allowed.

Ward A Paediatric

One parent may remain with the child, although this is not mandatory. The second parent or caregiver may visit the child every day, by anytime; but until 20:00. Other visitors may be allowed only upon request.

Ward B Maternity

Birth partners are permitted throughout the labour process and then between the hours of 08:00 – 21:00. However, partners will be asked to leave the ward during quiet time between the hours of 13:00 – 14:00.

Once the baby is born, grandparents may visit every day between the hours of 10:00 to 11:00. Siblings may also visit every day between the hours of 15:00 to 16:00.

No other visitors are allowed.

Ward C

Children may visit under the supervision of an adult. The hospital only allows 2 to 3 visitors per patient at a time.

How To Go About Your Visit

The first thing is to make sure you know the exact name under which the patient has been logged into the hospital. Also make sure you know the exact type of care they are receiving – which determines the ward.

The next step is to check through the information above to find the ward, and the corresponding visiting times.

Then you need to get directions to the hospital form your present location. The hospital address is: Louwtjie Rothman Street, Goodwood, Cape Town, 7460.

At the proper time, show up at the hospital, and go straight to the front desk. Tell them who you want to visit with, and tell them your relationship with the patient.
