Nigeria Police Academy School Fees And Courses

Nigeria Police Academy School Fees

The first thing to note about the Nigeria Police Academy is that it is not a money-making venture, and so its core concern is not to obtain money from students. Therefore, the academy does not charge students any money in the form of school fees. As a matter of fact, during the course of their studies, students are encouraged to report any officer who demands any form of monetary compensation in the form of fees or any other form of payment.

The reason behind this is that the authorities want to make the academy open to all people regardless of economic background. As long as they are of good character, and possess the mental and academic requirements; it does not matter whether the applicants are from poor backgrounds- they will be able to study at the Nigeria Police Academy.

However, all applicants are required to pay the sum of ₦3,500 for the application form. This payment is non-refundable and is often paid before the applicant is considered for entry into the academy. Furthermore, all applicants are to get the form only when they have met the JAMB cut-off mark for their year.

Nigeria Police Academy Courses

Under this Faculty there are the following departments:

Department of Sociology Department of Social Works

Department of Economics

It is necessary to have some understanding of the laws one is enforcing; otherwise, it is just a waste of time.

However, law at the Nigerian police academy is a course of study that will help one operate like a professional; every student who completes this course will be awarded a degree in law; which can help them grow faster in the service.

Faculty of Arts

The Faculty of Arts is more or less about understanding the country to a greater degree, so as to be better equipped to protect it. Under the Faculty of Arts, one could study the appropriate courses so as to be immersed in the arts and culture of the country.

How Long Will One Be Required To Study?

The length of study will depend on the course of study in which the individual student intends to engage. For example; Cadet Inspector and ASP programs run for 18 months (72 weeks). The training course is usually subdivided into three learning stages of about six-month tenure each. The learning is divided into basic, intermediate, and advanced.
