History of Ahmadu Bello University (ABU) Zaria Departments and Faculties

ABU Zaria Long ago began her citadel of learning and imparting wisdom into students with four(4) faculties alone holding up to fifteen (15) Departmental courses or academic departments altogether with just four hundred and twenty-six students (426) in total, and as the case may be, Ahmadu Bello University Zaria has extensively and rapidly in developing and determined nature of mind grown wide the Sub-Saharan Africa, which makes it the Largest University and Citadel of Learning in Sub-Saharan Africa.

As at this moment, Ahmadu Bello University with the Spirit of Rapid Growth Created twelve (12) Faculties in total and now consisting of eighty-two (82) Academic departments in total plus a post-Graduate School. It is also noted that the university has a Division of Agricultural College, a Demonstration Secondary School, a primary school, a Basic school for remedial studies, and an outfit set aside for consultation which tends to provide all sought of services to the University and the society at large. The institution is noted to have covered a landmark of up to seven thousand (7,000) Hectares containing two campuses, more also, the total number of students that are currently studying in the University of Ahmadu Bello Zaria is numbered up to thirty-five thousand students studying for both a degree and a sub-degree programme in the institution and students are enrolled from both the eastern, western, southern and northern parts of Nigeria and also from all over Africa into the school.

The Tawfawa Balewa College which is now a university properly called the Abubakar Tafawa Balewa University of Technology located in Bauchi state.
The Abdullahi Bayero College also now known as Bayero University located in Kano state.
