Born July 10, 1985, is Michael Owusu Addo professionally known as Sarkodie. Born as the fourth child of the family, he was being raised by a single parent, his mother Maame Aggrey. Sarkodie was born in Tema, Ghana, where he attended school. He attended the Tema Methodist Senior High School and furthered on by earning a degree in Graphic design. Sarkodie started rapping at a young age, after getting his degree from IPMC, he worked as an instrumentalist and was an underground rapper. He attended different rap battle shows and won, one which he appeared on was Adom FM’s popular rap competition Kasahare Level. During that competition Sarkodie met Duncan Williams of Duncwills Entertainment, he met artists like Edem and Castro. They both introduced him to a record producer named the Hammer Of The Last Two. Hammer was an established record producer, after listening to Sarkodie rap flows, he was impressed and decided to feature him on his album which he named the Volta Regime album.

December 21st, 2013, Sarkodie put up a concert for the launch of his new album Sarkology at the Accra Sports Stadium. The album was later released on January 2nd, 2014. The album features guest appearances from Fuse ODG, AKA, Davido, Tiwa Savage, Banky W, 2 Face Idibia, Joey B, and Efya.
