Born 9th December 1938, he is a politician and multi-millionaire businessman and philanthropist. He was a minister of Defence under the Olusegun Obasanjo, he was Nigerian army chief of army staff in the year 1975 to 1979. He was born in Takum, Taraba state. His father was Kuru Danjuma and his mother was Rufkatu Asibi.  During the young age of Danjuma, Takum was mainly a farming community, they grew yams, rice, cassava, and boniseed were cultivated largely by families of his clan. During the 2nd term of the Obasanjo presidency, he was an ambassador of Nigeria to Israel. The people of the state has a rich cultural heritage and the government has also made an effort to improve areas of tourist attraction in the state. Some of these places are the Gumpit park and game reserve, Mambilla tourist centre, fishing festival in Ibi. The fishing festival is normally done in a creative style, as there will be lots of activities like canoe racing, swimming competition, and cultural dances, this festival is done in April every year.

Apart from the fishing festival, the state also has lots of other festival activities which are the purma of the chamba in Donga, Takum and Jibu cultural dance in Bali and many others.
